Privacy Policy

The short version

We measure how the site is used, and we advertise on Facebook and Instagram. That means two things you should know about. First, this site carries the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta that you visited so we can measure our ads and show them to people who have already been here. Second, if you answer one of our ads with a Meta lead form, we receive what you put in it. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us, through our contact form or a lead form, and we use it to reply to you. Nothing is sold or rented. You can switch the Pixel off, and how is below.

Who we are

Nord Sky Labs builds websites and runs local SEO and digital marketing for contractors and home service businesses. We are based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. For anything in this policy, write to privacy@nordskylabs.com.

What we collect

Information you give us. If you submit the contact form, we receive:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• Your business name, if you enter one
• The services you tick
• Anything you write in the comments box
• Whether you ticked the box agreeing to text messages, and when

Information you give us through Meta. Some of our Facebook and Instagram ads open a short form inside the app, so you can ask us to get in touch without leaving it. If you submit one, we receive the details it asks for — typically your name, email address and phone number, and your answers to any questions on the form. Meta may fill some of these in from your profile; you can change them before you submit, and nothing reaches us unless you do. Meta delivers the form to us and keeps its own copy under Meta's Privacy Policy.

Information collected automatically. Our host keeps standard server logs of requests to the site — IP address, browser type, the page requested and a timestamp. These are ordinary infrastructure logs used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with anything from the form.

Analytics. We measure traffic in two ways. Neither is used for advertising, and neither tells us who you are.

• Vercel Web Analytics — a counter built into our host. It sets no cookies and the data is not associated with your IP address; visitors are counted using a hash Vercel derives from the incoming request. It is served from this domain rather than a third party's.
• Google Analytics — used to understand how people find the site and which pages hold their attention. This one does set cookies, described under “Cookies” below. The tag loads from Google's servers and the measurements are processed by Google on our behalf. Google states that it does not log or store IP addresses in this product: your address is used to work out an approximate location and to filter spam, then discarded.

What either one shows us is aggregate — page views, referrers, approximate location, browser and device type. We cannot pick you out of it, and we do not try to.

Advertising: the Meta Pixel. This site carries the Meta Pixel, a piece of code from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram). When you load a page, it sends Meta the address of that page, the page you came from, your browser and device type, and your IP address. If you send our contact form, it also tells Meta that a form was sent — not what was in it. Your name, email and message never go to Meta from this site, and we have switched off the Pixel's features that look for them.

We use it for three things: to see whether our ads lead to enquiries, to show our ads to people who have visited the site, and to let Meta find other people likely to be interested. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta can connect your visit to your account to do this. Meta also uses this information for its own purposes, under its own privacy policy, so unlike our other providers below it is not simply working on our behalf.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the Pixel does not load at all, and nothing about your visit goes to Meta.

What we do not collect. Google's advertising features are switched off in the Google Analytics tag itself, so Google Analytics does not feed ad targeting. The Meta Pixel is the only advertising tracker on this site. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies on this site: _ga and a second one beginning _ga_. They last up to two years and hold a random identifier, which is what lets Google tell one visitor from another and one visit from the next. There is nothing in them that you typed — no name, no email.

The Meta Pixel sets a first-party cookie called _fbp, and a second one, _fbc, if you arrived by clicking one of our ads. Both last 90 days and hold an identifier that lets Meta recognise your browser and connect a visit to the ad that brought you. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta can also read its own cookies to recognise you. Nothing else on this site sets a cookie.

You can refuse all of them and the site will work exactly the same. Blocking cookies for this site in your browser or browsing privately stops both. Google's Analytics opt-out add-on stops Google Analytics; turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser stops the Meta Pixel. If you use Facebook or Instagram, Meta's ad preferences control whether its ads are based on your visits to other sites, and the “Your activity off Meta technologies” page in Meta's Accounts Center lets you disconnect that activity from your account. Most ad and tracker blockers already block both tools, and we have not tried to work around them.

Why we use it

Contact form and lead form submissions are used for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if it goes further, to discuss working together. Server logs are used to operate and secure the site, analytics to judge which pages are worth keeping and where people arrive from, and the Meta Pixel to measure and target our advertising. That is the whole list.

We will not add you to a mailing list on the strength of a contact form or lead form submission, and we do not upload your details to Meta or anyone else to target ads at you.

Text messages

Our contact form has a box you can tick to let us text you. It is never ticked for you, and you can send the form without it. If you tick it, Nord Sky Labs may text the number you gave us about your request: replies, scheduling a call and follow-ups. How often depends on the conversation. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any of our texts and they stop. Reply HELP for help, or email privacy@nordskylabs.com.

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or your agreement to receive texts with anyone else for their marketing. Text message opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, apart from the provider that delivers our texts for us.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers to run the site and deliver email. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Vercel — hosts the website, runs the function that handles form submissions, and provides the cookieless analytics described above
• Resend — delivers form submissions to our inbox and sends you a short confirmation that we received yours
• Google Analytics — measures traffic to the site
• Google Workspace — the inbox that receives and stores that email
• Our texting provider — sends text messages, only to people who ticked the box on our contact form

Meta is the exception. It delivers lead forms to us and runs the Pixel described above, and it uses what the Pixel collects for its own purposes as well as ours. Some US state privacy laws call this “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising. Meta is the only company we do this with, and the opt-outs under “Cookies” above, including Global Privacy Control, stop it.

All of these companies are United States based. If you are writing to us from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US.

How long we keep it

Enquiries, whether they arrive through our contact form or a Meta lead form, stay in our email for as long as the conversation is useful, and afterwards as an ordinary business record. If we do not end up working together, we will delete an enquiry on request. Server logs are retained by our host on their own schedule, typically a matter of weeks. Vercel's analytics are aggregate from the moment they are recorded and are kept by Vercel on their own schedule. Google Analytics data is held for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Neither contains a record tied to you, so there is nothing in them to look up or remove on request — the opt-out under “Cookies” above is the control that actually applies. Information collected by the Meta Pixel, and Meta's copy of any lead form, is held by Meta on its own schedule; Meta's settings, linked under “Cookies”, are where you control it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email privacy@nordskylabs.com and we will action it — there is no form to fill in and you do not need to give a reason.

Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation. We will honour a request of this kind from anyone who makes one, wherever you are, rather than checking whether a particular law applies to you first.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and form submissions are encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we would rather say so plainly than promise otherwise. Please do not send sensitive information — financial details, passwords, anything confidential — through the contact form.

Links to other sites

Where we link out, those sites have their own privacy practices and this policy does not cover them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. If a change is significant — new tracking, a new purpose for your information — we will say so here rather than quietly amending the text.

22 September 2026. We added Vercel Web Analytics, described under “What we collect” above. It is the first measurement of any kind on this site; before that date the site collected nothing beyond ordinary server logs and what you typed into the contact form. It is cookieless and we still do not know who you are.

Later the same day. We added Google Analytics alongside it. That is the first cookie this site has ever set, and the first time any of this data has been processed by a third party, so we are saying so here rather than letting you find it in a cookie jar. Its advertising features are switched off, and the opt-out is under “Cookies” above.

7 October 2026. We started advertising on Facebook and Instagram. We added the Meta Pixel, the first advertising tracker this site has carried, and some of our ads now use Meta lead forms. Until this date, this policy said there were no advertising pixels here and nothing followed you around the web; that is no longer true, so we are saying so plainly. The Pixel does not load if your browser sends Global Privacy Control, and the other opt-outs are under “Cookies” above.
